About the teacher …

… Mr. Dempster

Sometimes people are interested in who it is teaching them their math.

This page should shed some light on who I am.

I graduated from SDSU in 1987 with a degree in Mathematics (click on the college graphic, and turn on the sound).

I’ve been teaching Math here at TVHS since ’89 and taught one year before that at Terra Cotta Junior High School (now a middle school) up in Lake Elsinore.  The courses I have taught at the high school include Math A, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Math 96, Trigonometry, Probability & Statistics, and Pre- Calculus.

I have served both as a co-Department Chair and Department Chair of the Math department at TVHS for a number of years before finally handing off these duties to others.  I now can breathe more easily…

On a personal note, my wife and I have a family of four kids (grown and on their own) and four dogs (Golden Retrievers).

I enjoy riding motorcycles on the street (Suzuki V-Strom 650), and dirt (Suzuki DRZ-400S dual sport) and also enjoy the camping trips we take when we can.

This should be enough, for awhile anyway,  to help understand who I am 🙂
